FLIGHT OPS FLYER November 25, 1998 **************** ***************** A Thanksgiving Message from Captain Hart Langer ----------------------------------------------- Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in Flight Operations. During this season of gratitude, I want to add my thanks for all your hard work throughout the year. In particular, a special thank you to those who will be working on the holiday. Your commitment to serving our customers is greatly appreciated. 1998 has been a good year, and all of us in Flight Operations have much to be thankful for. My thanks to all of you for your dedication, professionalism and teamwork, and a happy and safe holiday to you and your families. 1999 Companion Passes On Their Way ---------------------------------- Distribution of 1999 companion passes is underway. Companion passes for employees on the U.S. payroll are being mailed to their home addresses, and should be received by December 15. Employees who have not received their passes by that date should call the automated People Access Line (PAL) at 1-888-PAL-LINE and follow the companion ticket request prompts. Each eligible employee and retiree will receive a yearly allotment of 24 personalized companion tickets, each good for one flight segment. Once the tickets have been signed by the employee or retiree, anyone can use them. The employee whose name appears on the companion ticket will be charged for the travel and is responsible for the behavior of the person traveling, so employees should keep track of their coupon numbers and who is using them. Companion passes are valid only for travel on United or United Shuttle. Companions of active employees and retirees may travel on Star Alliance carriers, excluding Thai Airways International, but they must be ticketed using the procedures that apply for interline travel.
