Systemwide Reserve Test ----------------------- Check your domicile mailbox for an information packet on the systemwide reserve test that will run Oct. 31 to Nov. 30 (November bid month). Please note that some of the interpretations contained in the FAR 121.471 (Required Rest Rule) Q&A document are under review and may, or may not, be the final interpretations when the rule goes into effect on Dec. 12, 1999. Also the company and ALPA have been in discussions on this subject and the rule, as it applies to United pilots, may be further modified through negotiations. Keep Those Delay Codes Coming ----------------------------- Pilots are helping United track and solve delay problems by sending delay codes via ACARS during any or all three phases of flight. Flight Ops, working with ALPA, established a list of ACARS miscellaneous codes to communicate the reason for a delay. ACARS/TCAS Moratorium Bulletin 99-01 contains three sets of codes for taxi-out, enroute and taxi-in. The codes go into a special database that gives the company a better picture of airport/ATC system problems.
