FLIGHT OPS FLYER April 16, 1999 **************** ************** United Shuttle Rolls Out Two-End Operations ------------------------------------------- On Monday, April 19, United Shuttle will begin the roll out of two-end operations at 19 of the 21 Shuttle destinations. Currently, two-end operations -- the process of boarding and deplaning flights from the forward and aft aircraft doors simultaneously -- take place at all United Shuttle Bay to Basin locations. On Monday, United Shuttle flights to and from LAS, PHX, SMF and TUS will begin two-end operations. After that, the roll out dates include: May 3 for EUG and SEA; May 17 for BOI, GEG and RNO; and June 7 for MFR, PDX, SAN and SBA. Shuttle pilots can assist in a successful implementation of two-end operations. When you are informed by Zone Control or by ACARS that your flight will be deplaning with two-end operations, pass along that information -- when possible -- to the customers or flight attendants so they can be prepared for the process. Two-end operations are expected to increase customer satisfaction and improve on-time performance by speeding up the boarding and deplaning process. For successes and/or challenges pilots encounter using two- end operations, DIS*64565 has been created as a feedback tool. For more information, contact your domicile's Shuttle Coordinator.
