To help achieve that goal, a new communication effort -- directed at employees and customers alike -- will debut in April in North America. An International strategy is being developed. Entitled "Time to Go," the campaign for North American flights features a 10 minute countdown to an on- time departure: 10 minutes before departure: Be onboard in your seat. 5 minutes before departure: The door closes. 0 We're off to an on-time departure. The message for customers and employees is that in order for a flight to pushback right on time, all passengers need to be in their seats and ready to go 10 minutes prior to scheduled departure. It will be communicated to customers via airport/city ticket office signs, the Mileage Plus newsletter, press releases, and beginning May 1, a short, 45-second video clip to be shown onboard. Employees are hearing about the new campaign via NewsReal and Our Times, daily briefings, paycheck messages and communication tools within each division. A copy of the onboard video clip will be available in domiciles in early April. Bridge Opens at Flight Center ----------------------------- The next time you're at the Flight Center, check out the new bridge between the "E" and "F" buildings. Designed to protect employees from inclement weather, the bridge is complete and open for business. Karl joined United in August 1997, after serving in the United States Air Force. His new position is effective April 1.
